Fast Food Essay Samples - Writing EssaysWhen I was in college, I majored in English and I had a general interest in writing, but I never thought of writing fast food essay samples. Well, they did exist, but not until I was searching for essays as a child.I'd spend the first few weeks of my history class in an effort to finish up the research I'd already done. This would be done with a chronological order starting from the first paragraph to last. If it was a military course, I made sure to do the research for that and then start the research for the paragraph after. As I got older, I learned to learn more and I learned to absorb as much as I could be taught. It wasn't until I was an adult that I was able to really appreciate what I learned in the classroom. I was asked to write for a history project in college that was somewhat long and involved.I was tired of reading and I didn't need to get bored. So I used to pretend to work, just so I could read the essay. That essay sample really came in handy and I'm glad I used it.With all the advantages of using fast food essay samples, why aren't more people using them? Well, there are a few reasons. Attachment Theory And Family Systems Theory Essay - 971 Words
When a parent is incarcerated, we often think about the negative impacts that it leaves on the child. However, what is often overlooked are the negative effects that the incarceration of one partner can have on the attachment and parenting styles of both partners. When a father is incarcerated the mother becomes the primary caregiver, causing a stress. This stress often impacts the motherââ¬â¢s attachment with her child and the parenting style. Likewise, the father begins to feel a loss of control, lower self-esteem, and feel powerless in the situation. Attachment theory and Family Systems theory relates to the issues that arise when a parent is incarcerated. Attachment theory is based on the idea that childrenââ¬â¢s sense of contingent on the relationships formed with their caregivers. How assured they are in this security predicts the their development of cognitive and social skills continuing into adulthood (Makariev Shaver, 2010). Family systems theory explains how everyd ay functioning develops, either in roles, behaviors, rules, goals, and how families adapt to change. Not only does it describe the everyday functioning, but it describes the relationships within the family subsystem. They describe this relationship between parent and child to be bidirectional meaning that influences are two ways. This direction begins to evolve, as the child grows older (Binger Gerhardt, 2014). Journal Volunteering Expectations and Purposes Essay Example For Students
Journal Volunteering Expectations and Purposes Essay There are times in everyone life when the person introspects himself and wish to do something for the happiness and satisfaction of soul. I also had such moment and then a thought of doing something for the good cause evolved in me. I wanted to do something selflessly for someone and help the society which eventually will satiate my soul and give me peace. I joined an organization which helps poor children by providing them education and teach them to cope up with life as an orphan. Government provides them support but that is not enough. In my view, they need more care and a guide who can hold their hand and show them the right path. My part of betterment of society would include teaching computers to such students. I feel that computer education is necessary for everyone in current times and thus by utilizing my skills and utter dedication towards helping the needy people, I would teach them to stand face to face with the current technological needs. I am seriously excited about my involvement in the society. Helping someone selflessly and seeing that you can be of value to someone is truly satisfying. The thing which my soul is seeking is the happiness, the sparkle of achievement in the eyes of those children when they would gain knowledge and would be able to make their life worthwhile. Though, I am nervous too about the extent by what I will be able to provide what they seek from me. Every person has expectations and even those students would have some expectations from me. I wish to fulfill their expectations and want to support them and affect their lives in a positive way. This experience will help me too and give me a chance to explore the horizons of society. I would be able to expand my world and learn about my own limits by which I can be worth in a society. This would also give me a chance to experience the life, the experiences and everything what those orphans have faced. It would take me to their world which surely would make me a person who would be sensitive and would see the world in a better way. Journal Entry 2: Initial Reactions Thinking about volunteering and helping the needy people is one thing and helping in reality is a different world altogether. The expectations, the thoughts and the planning would help, but only to an extent as the things are totally different on paper and in actual. Before I started volunteering my thought was that I would just go and teach computers to the children and they would simply learn things as it happens in the school. Well, it did not happen this way. I was really shocked and amazed by the way things turned up. I never actually gave a thought that an orphanage is not a school and it is a different world where each child lives in his or her own mini world too. It is easy to deal with the children who came to orphanage when they were infants though, the children who came to orphanage after few years of start of their lives, it is really difficult and not a normal task. They all carry some emotional baggage which may be because of their past memories or the things which have happened in their lives before. Teaching them straight is not the way it was expected. It was like a challenge standing in front of me to connect myself emotionally to them and be their friend, which will help them be comfortable with me and learn what I intend to teach them. I needed to make a place for myself in their lives, their hearts and then have a connection which would act like a bridge between us. Journal Entry 3: Delving into the Culture An orphanage is a place where happiness is not seen a lot of times. The children are emotionally insecure and always look for solace through someone or something. The children from different kinds of societies, regions and countries stay in orphanage. Again, this difference is inexistent in the children who came here when they were infants as whatever they learned has been through the orphanage only. But, there are some children who are from various parts of the world and who have different cultures imbibed in them since birth which cannot be washed easily. What I have felt is that the language of words is not important if you wish to connect with the students. It has never been a problem to me as children connect through emotions rather than words. Thus the language of feelings is more important than language of words. I have had experiences with teaching children who do not speak English, but still I was able to connect to them emotionally and helped them understand things which my language skills could not do. Essay on Great ExpectationsThus educating and guiding people is really important which helps people live a healthy lifestyle and save their good health for a long time. A volunteer organization has a true aim to serve the society and provide a better life to people in the world. It is a perfect platform for people who wish to help selflessly and commit themselves towards the betterment of people around them. These kinds of organizations act as a team which joins hands and work effectively to provide great things to the society and eradicating the ill aspects which are prevalent in the world. Though it is seen as a noble cause and everyone loves being a part of it, but still there are many obstacles which people face traversing the path of nobility. As per my experience there are many obstacles such as some government rules which collide with the practical situations and which suppress our power to help the needy. The second obstacle which I faced was more of a trust factor which does takes a time to build up between the needy and the provider. It took me some time to build the trust between the children and me but eventually this obstacle was broken down. Journal Entry 5: Post-Volunteer Processing The whole volunteering task was an enlightening process for me. It helped me introspect and break the foundations of my thinking and beliefs which were limited before this project. I did teach the orphan children computers and gave them the knowledge which they needed to survive in the society and face the world when they come out of the orphanage. The world is a cruel place with a lot of competition in each field and education is the weapon which helps every person to fight and win the war against it. I played the role of provider of that weapon which they hold proudly and are gearing up for the battle. I added value to their lives in the form of education and the knowledge which would help them make their lives better and can enable them to progress in their lives. The volunteering process was a beautiful one and it really gave me peace which I would not have got by any other way. Yes there were challenges but no challenge is as big as the willpower. I faced a challenge of emotional disconnect with the children as they used to see me as an outsider to their world and stayed aloof. Gradually, the things changed and there was a sense of emotional attachment which made us overcome this obstacle and we shared the world where they gained the knowledge and I gained solace through helping them. The whole thing was not as I pictured it of being a simple teaching like a school. It made me see a different world altogether which I never perceived. Each child was different and dealing with them was different which made me analyze the world, the feelings of people and the emotions and their role in peopleââ¬â¢s lives which I never could have imagined before. The assumptions of a fair world where people are just the same broke into pieces through this volunteer task. The task was selflessly chosen and I never expected anything in return other than the peace which I would get through it. I did not get any scholarly awards or any recognition by this help but it has given me the most important gift, the gift of high thinking. During this volunteer project, I had learned a lot about the people, the world and the things which I always tend to oversee. This is not a short term benefit but indeed is a benefit which would help me my whole life. The way I think has changed and I can analyze in a better way which would help me in my career and my personal life too. This experience has taught me a lot of things and I am definite that I would always be volunteering in one way or the other. Helping the society is all it takes to be at peace and to develop a feeling of pride. I would want to volunteer again and in a better way possible. I do not want to limit myself to only education, I want to expand my horizon and help the society in as many ways as possible.

However, it should be noted that human resource is the most important resource of an organization. The effective and efficient running of a business should be based on the belief of continued innovations by the organization, the organizationââ¬â¢s abili ty to adapt to the changes in its environment and the overall ability of the organization to integrate itself with the drastic changes in technology. This has made the efficient running of a business hard as there are many problems encountered in the management process. Understanding of the Book The need to develop strategies that are required to resolve issues that relate to management of personnel has been necessitated by the modern organizational management dynamism. The New Art of Managing People is a book that aims at coming up with strategies that can be applied by a management to resolve some of the problems that influence effective management in the organization. The book subject matter articulates around the creation of friendly and productive ties that exist between the management and the employees. The authors of this book have stated that effective management of an organization should build trust between all the relevant stakeholders as this would improve the organizatio nââ¬â¢s performance. Therefore, they come up with practical techniques and procedures that can be used to resolve the issues in the organization on matters pertaining interaction between the employees and the management.Advertising Looking for essay on business economics? In order that this book remains relevant as the years go by, the authors have attempted to relate these issues to the modern management. In this book, Hunsaker and Alessandra, (2008) establishes that management can forge an effective employee friendly working atmosphere that will ensure employeesââ¬â¢ productivity is upped. The book develops ways that can be applied to develop interpersonal skills that can be helpful in the process of improving the communication between the management and the employees. The book postulates that the adoption of new skills will improve the employer vis-a-vis the employeesââ¬â¢ relationship (Hunsaker Alessandra, 2008). Such an improved relationship has been cited as the backbone of the modern organizations in the sense that such an organization is grounded on effective relationship of trust and mutual respect. This means that the management does not necessarily need to use coercive forces to induce performance as employees are self-motivated. The book stipulates that the managers of an organization and all the other superior officials of the organization are not aware that there exists a problem in the organization with regard to the building and the maintenance of healthy and productive relationships in the organizationââ¬â¢s human resource department. The authors have insisted that managers need to be in good relationship with their subordinates meaning th at they should be able to understand the predicaments of their workers. However, this has not been the case. The relationship between the managers and their subordinates has been rocky because managers have not been trained on how they should interact with their subordinates effectively. Hunsaker and Alessandra, (2008), have discovered that many organizationââ¬â¢s superiors are well trained in business management, but they have not been technically trained on effective methods to interact with their subordinates.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on The New Art Of Managing People specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More When compared to their preparedness in dealing with the technical aspect of the organization, the lack of effective training of management of their employees poorly prepares them to deal with peopleââ¬â¢s problems that may arise in the organization (Hunsaker Alessandra, 2008). Therefore, this book aims at helping managers develop skills that will enable them to tap the potential of its subordinates in undertaking the activities of the organization which will spell absolute success for the organization, the management and the other organization employees. According to the authors, there are several ways that can guarantee proper treatment of employees. First, the management should respect its employees especially on their abilities to execute their designated responsibilities as hired to perform. Such an approach by the management can help greatly in the process of improving self-autonomy of workers. The authors of The New Art of Managing People have developed strategies that can be applied by people in management positions to evaluate the working conditions at an organization. Hunsaker and Alessandra, (2008), also presented strategies that can be used to improve those working conditions. The authors argue that it is very difficult for the management to change from its old habit o f directing the subordinates by issuing orders that are deemed implementable by the subordinates under the direct supervision of the superiors. Besides this, the book formulates ways that will ensure gradual transition from the old habits of management to new approaches in management issues. It has also been noted that transitions may be prone to mistakes and thus leniency may be required to ensure that employees are not reprimanded for this mistakes. It is further argues that the management should come up with a good transition process that guarantees an effective implementation of the new policy in the relationship between the management and its employees. This process can be achieved using a five-step process that is suggested in the book.Advertising Looking for essay on business economics? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More This process ensures that managers employ an interactive approach that will overhaul the interaction process in the organization. It holds that interactive managers have the opportunity of understanding their subordinates and thus, developing the required communication skills that will be applied in the development of mutual relationships in the organization. The book also postulates that an effective approach to management should be one that is promoted by open mindedness exhibited by the management and the organization of employees. These ideas suggest an outcome of friendly and extremely productive working conditions for all the organization stakeholders, thus improving on the organization profitability (Hunsaker Alessandra, 2008). The book holds that it is crucial that the management understands the differences that are exhibited by its employees and thus, take the necessary steps that will maximize the organizationââ¬â¢s gain from the diversity identified. The identificatio n of the differences in employeesââ¬â¢ behavior should motivate the management to handle this matter in a way that will ensure the differences are harmonized with the organization objectives. Importance of the Book Professor Hunsaker and Dr. Allessandra are seasoned and highly respected management experts and consultants and their combined effort in writing this book has stressed the vitality of an effective and efficient management of any organization. The book has put it in a nut shell that the process of managing the employees of an organization is an ever-changing field. The dynamics of management are constantly evolving; therefore, the management concepts that are proposed and being used at a particular time in an organization are likely to be obsolete in only a few years. The authors of this book have attributed the change in ways of managing organizations to the fundamental realization that human beings are constantly modifying how they accomplish different tasks from the previously used procedures. The business environments and the state policies that govern organizations are changing constantly, forcing the management to conversely adapt to the new demands. These changes have pushed the costs of production, training of employees in the organization and keeping the employees highly motivated up. The authors hold that this will continue escalating over the coming years. Therefore, a need to overcome these unprecedented adversaries in the organization management has to be countered or else the corporate world will be doomed to a disastrous tiding to the management. This book is written with the main agenda of coming up with ways that will overcome the traditional methods that dictated the manager-employee relationship in an organizationââ¬â¢s practice. The authors have illustrated vividly that an organization that has a friendly and productive employee-management relationship experience substantial benefits that are spread through the organization. The book is very crucial in offering the organizational management the practical strategies with well laid out guidelines that can be applied by the management to achieve the ultimate goal of developing interpersonal skills that are held by the superiors. The acquisition of these interpersonal skills by the management will help in forging a good employee-employer relationship by identifying the differences that exist in its workforce in regard to appropriate use of knowledge, assessment of the current employee working conditions, improvement of the areas that are deemed to require upgrading, and lastly, in the overall creation of trust between the superiors and their subordinates. The book has identified that the acquisition of person-to-person skills that are held by all the employees of an organization is crucial to the overall central development of good teams. The book has stressed that letting the employees express their individual personalities will aid each one of them to ac hieve their potential and consequently, to self-actualize. This reduces the stress and animosity in the organizationââ¬â¢s workforce that is brought about by strenuous bureaucracy. An overall positive interaction spirit is formulated in all the sectors of the organization. Consequently, this stimulates increment in organization productivity and profitability. The book gives very clear and vivid insights into the world of management to those who want to understand the concept of managing people. The book looks at management from a critical perspective of enhancing productivity through proper leadership skills that are geared towards having a robust working condition and cohesion among workers as a means towards achieving the set goals and objectives. This calls for the creation of a system that is efficient and effective in its dispensation of the identified mandate. Management in form of human resource entails having a workforce that is efficient in its coordination and that is f ree of stress associated with work may it be long working hours or even the working environment. One of the weaknesses that I found in this book is that it does not cover the issue of stress management. Stress can be defined as lack of the ability to meet the demands that one is required to meet causing a feeling of anxiety and unnecessary pressure. Stress can have internal sources or external sources. Internal sources of stress at workplaces include the levels of bureaucracies and red tapes that are present at a specific work station, the time that workers are required to work and finally from the level of cooperation that is exhibited by the workers. External sources of stress include the conditions at the homes of workers or any other outside stressor. The most profound external factor is the work-family linkage, where social issues of family are imposed upon the workers. It is important to note that family issues will always affect level of competence either directly or indirect ly as it affects both emotional and cognitive aspects. Despite the fact that the book was published in 2008, the authors might not have anticipated the impact of changing concepts of business management as the recommendations that the book gives may not be very effective in todayââ¬â¢s management of human capital. Due to such weaknesses the book may not be very helpful in offering technical insights for advanced levels of management students as there are other books that addresses the issues of management of personnel in more advance methods and offers more modern insights when compared to those offered in this book. This text may be better suited for beginners as opposed to advanced students of management. Another aspect of the book that I felt was a weakness is that the authors did not build on the necessity of creating a positive spirit in a company environment. The author focuses largely on managing the company in a structured way where management of various organizational as pects is given a horizontal approach, meaning that the communication model that is advocated for in the book is more of instructional nature. Such modes of communication bring about the feelings of superiority versus inferiority which may be detrimental in the process of management of human capital in organizations. Although this mode has proved to be efficient in dispensing work instructions, it has been categorized as being an anti-social approach at the workplace. Building a positive spirit in an organization entails letting the employees feel a sense of ownership of the success of the company. This allows them to own the success as being a part of them, which encourages workers to pursue teamwork. This is also crucial in individual empowerment. However, this leads to unnecessary competition as each of the staff would want to get an opportunity to be recognized as the source of a particular success. Another concept that the book has failed to cover adequately is that of seeking t o reduce stress that is not related to work, but which impacts on the performance of the organization. Managers should, through the human resource desk, be able to have a therapist who should look into the employeeââ¬â¢s psychological state of mind like depression, stress and other habits that may make such employees ineffective in their productivity. It is imperative that although the main areas of focus in workplace stress management are stressors that are work related, external stressors need to be addressed to ensure that the productivity of employees is maintained at its peak to guarantee maximum productivity in the organization. Lastly, although the book gives an insight on how to increase productivity and profitability, it is disappointing to note that some of the suggestions and initiatives given do not meet todayââ¬â¢s world dynamism of management, although they have a high potential of success. For instance, some books in management advocate that managers should come up with an interactive approach and go on to give the concept of a bicycle wheel where the rear wheel is the technical management and the front wheel is said to be the peopleââ¬â¢s knowledge, it is imperative to mention that the first goal of any institution is to make profit and, therefore, the issue of peopleââ¬â¢s knowledge is taken as a facade because it doesnââ¬â¢t exist in real businesses, reason being that the workers views and opinions are not really taken into consideration. Although the authors advocates for the satisfaction of the employeesââ¬â¢ needs and values as being the long-term measure of increasing their productivity, the satisfaction of employees to their maximum may not be realistic as it may be hard for organizations to meet all the needs of the employees and enable them to get ultimate satisfaction as far as their cognitive and social needs are concerned. Although I do disagree with some of the recommendations and opinions expressed by the authors , I find some of the strategies outlined being authentic and highly valuable. For instance, it is important for any organization to have a good working relationship between the management and the employees. This does not only give a sense of ownership of the organization by the employees, but it allows for sincerity and improved levels of competence that does not require the presence of managers to achieve the organizationââ¬â¢s objective. This means that employees continuously feel that they are appreciated by their employer and thus their commitment to the company remains undivided. When employees own up the organization procedures, they feel that it is their prerogative to deliver to the best of their ability, which translates to improved organizational productivity. In conclusion, it is important to note that Hunsaker and Alessandraââ¬â¢s work offers wonderful insights as far as management of human capital is concerned. The content of this book can be applied at the workpl ace in a number of ways. Although it has been noted in this review that this book has some suggestions that are not in line with todayââ¬â¢s dynamism in management of human capital, the authors have managed to give many new insights that are of great relevance in management of workers. The book is also excellent for management students as it offers the necessary knowledge especially to beginners as they learn what is required of them as managers of human capital. Therefore, the book can be recommended to all management students especially those that are interested in advancing their knowledge on fruitful approaches to management of personnel. Michelangelo Essays - Sistine Chapel, Painted Ceilings, Free Essays
Michelangelo Essays - Sistine Chapel, Painted Ceilings, Free Essays Michelangelo Michelangelo was pessimistic in his poetry and an optimist in his artwork. Michelangelos artwork consisted of paintings and sculptures that showed humanity in its natural state. Michelangelos poetry was pessimistic in his response to Strazzi even though he was complementing him. Michelangelos sculpture brought out his optimism. Michelangelo was optimistic in completing The Tomb of Pope Julius II and persevered through its many revisions trying to complete his vision. Sculpture was Michelangelos main goal and the love of his life. Since his art portrayed both optimism and pessimism, Michelangelo was in touch with his positive and negative sides, showing that he had a great and stable personality. Michelangelos artwork consisted of paintings and sculptures that showed humanity in its natural state. Michelangelo Buonarroti was called to Rome in 1505 by Pope Julius II to create for him a monumental tomb. We have no clear sense of what the tomb was to look like, since over the years it went through at least five conceptual revisions. The tomb was to have three levels; the bottom level was to have sculpted figures representing Victory and bond slaves. The second level was to have statues of Moses and Saint Paul as well as symbolic figures of the active and contemplative life- representative of the human striving for, and reception of, knowledge. The third level, it is assumed, was to have an effigy of the deceased pope. The tomb of Pope Julius II was never finished. What was finished of the tomb represents a twenty-year span of frustrating delays and revised schemes. Michelangelo had hardly begun work on the popes tomb when Julius commanded him to fresco the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel to complete the work done in the previous century under Sixtus IV. The overall organization consists of four large triangles at the corner; a series of eight triangular spaces on the outer border; an intermediate series of figures; and nine central panels, all bound together with architectural motifs and nude male figures. The corner triangles depict heroic action in the Old Testament, while the other eight triangles depict the biblical ancestors of Jesus Christ. Michelangelo conceived and executed this huge work as a single unit. Its overall meaning is a problem. The issue has engaged historians of art for generations without satisfactory resolution. The paintings that were done by Michelangelo had been painted with the brightest colors that just bloomed the whole ceiling as one entered to look. The ceiling had been completed just a little after the Pope had died. The Sistine Chapel is the best fresco ever done. Michelangelo embodied many characteristic qualities of the Renaissance. An individualistic, highly competitive genius (sometimes to the point of eccentricity). Michelangelo was not afraid to show humanity in its natural state - nakedness; even in front of the Pope and the other religious leaders. Michelangelo portrayed life as it is, even with its troubles. Michelangelo wanted to express his own artistic ideas. The most puzzling thing about Michelangelos ceiling design is the great number of seemingly irrelevant nude figures that he included in his gigantic fresco. Four youths frame most of the Genesis scenes. We know from historical records that various church officials objected to the many nudes, but Pope Julius gave Michelangelo artistic freedom, and eventually ruled the chapel off limits to anyone save himself, until the painting was completed. The many nude figures are referred to as Ignudi. They are naked humans, perhaps representing the naked truth. More likely, I think they represent Michelangelos concept of the human potential for perfection. Michelangelo himself said, Whoever strives for perfection is striving for something divine. In painting nude humans, he is suggesting the unfinished human; each of us is born nude with a mind and a body, in Neoplatonic thought, with the power to be our own shapers. Michelangelo has a very great personality for his time. In Rome, in 1536, Michelangelo was at work on the Last Judgment for the altar wall of the Sistine Chapel, which he finished in 1541. The largest fresco of the Renaissance, it depicts Judgment Day. Christ, with a clap of thunder, puts into motion the inevitable separation, with the saved ascending on the left side of the painting
